Ever get that feeling you have no idea where the light source actually is? I got that feeling. man it is fucking TIME CONSUMING drawing two people on the same page like especially if i wanna actually go all out like this... Simple backgrounds ahoy, it's time to learn about these poor saps!
Names: Johann and Laurel Rau Ages: 41 and 17, respectively. Heights: 185cm and 163cm, respectively. Weights: 84.8kg and 62.1kg, respectively. Johann "M" Rau (back turned) is the "Mayor" of New Arbor, meaning that he's basically head of NAPSO , right under the Architect, but at around the same level of authority than the Spider (Frelia). His office is on the top floor of the building.
He's a generally calm, reserved man, who never really shows his face to anyone. He stays at the top of the building cooped up in his office working on paperwork most of the time. Not much is known about him, and he intends to keep it that way. He's an "Unarmed Assault" class agent that focuses on hitting hard and fast, but because of his Gather Seal inscribed on his left arm, he is able to constantly gather energy and use offensive elemental Seals as well.
He prefers to be called Mayor, even thought the spot at the top of NAPSO is reserved for the Rau family due to reasons still unknown.
Because of this, his son, Laurel Rau (with the book) is next in line as the head of NAPSO. The only problem is he's rather weak and effeminate. To counter this, he's been entrusted with the Rau family's Seal archive that lists even Seals unknown to top-echelon NAPSO researchers. He's been trained as a child to build up enough endurance to handle the great energy cost that comes with these Seals, but the human body is only so powerful. The use of these powerful Seals end up shortening his life span by at least a week each time he uses them, so he's only serious if the situation demands.
Laurel is, as previously stated, just downright girly. There's little about him that makes him as "manly" as his father. He blushes easily, he gets flustered easily, he panics and is finicky about the tiniest things, and he looks great in an apron. Basically, if he's the next head of NAPSO, he's gonna have a lot of problems trying to get people to take him seriously.
People (himself and his father included) are wondering if he even has what it takes to succeed the position as NAPSO's head. Rau family tradition states that "in order for the next of kin to take their parent's place they must emerge victorious against him/her in a duel to the death." It's a cruel tradition, but one that's been upheld for countless generations, nonetheless. Oddly enough, his father is perfectly fine with this, knowing that this is a tradition set in stone and that Laurel to beating him of all people would truly make him worthy of his position.
However, it's left Laurel rather hesitant about his determination to succeed the top.
Laurel also has a little sister, adopted into the family in order to protect him as he grew. Her name is Mei Mei likes to dress Laurel up in girly clothes, so that hasn't really helped his manliness much Johann is extremely powerful, hailed as the strongest and fastest agent in all of NAPSO. After all, he didn't get his title by doing nothing. The insignia on Laurel's book and on Johann's back is the Rau family crest, which is what the NAPSO emblem was loosely based on Laurel is surprisingly good at cooking, despite having countless maids and butlers wait on him hand and foot since birth. It's safe to assume that the maids dressed him up in maid clothes and an apron and taught him how to cook something as an excuse every time. Laurel's mother died due to complications from childbirth. This is probably one of the reasons Johann doesn't leave his office very often.
